FAQS
Where do we rehearse?
Kelvin West Church – formerly Wellington Church in Glasgow’s West End
When do we rehearse?
Wednesday evenings, 7.30 – 10pm from the late August until mid-May
How do I know if I would enjoy it?
Prospective members are usually invited to come along to a couple of rehearsals prior to an audition with our Musical Director.
Do I need to audition?
To maintain Bearsden Choir’s high standard, everyone has a brief audition with our Musical Director, Andrew Nunn.
What’s involved in an audition?
An audition lasts about 5-10 minutes – it’s an opportunity for Andrew to chat about your experience, check your vocal range and try a bit of sight-singing. It’s unaccompanied singing in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere, with immediate verbal feedback given.
Do I have to be able to read music?
Most people in the Choir are able to read music and, whilst not essential, it is helpful.
What sort of commitment is expected of me?
Members are expected to attend rehearsals regularly throughout the season and take part in our concerts and other events.
